Gaming Is The Biggest Trend Says Turner Asia Sr VP & GM Ian Diamond

In an interview with Indiantelevision.com, Turner Entertainment Networks Asia Sr. VP and General Manager Ian Diamond says that gaming is the biggest trend – “…Next generation findings that show that about 40 per cent of kids are computer users and 1 in 6 of these also surf the internet. Their favourite internet activity is playing games (32 per cent).”
I’m not sure of what to make of these numbers – 32 percent of 1 in 6, of 40 percent of total kids surveyed means a grand total of…2 percent of those surveyed play games. This, apparently, was sufficient for them to launch the Toonami Game On with xBox 360.
More and more non-traditional advertisers are now advertising on channels of the Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE) because kids are influencing purchase decisions; according to the parents surveyed, which purchase decisions did the child influence? TV (71 percent), PC (70 percent), Mobile Phone (67 percent) and Car (66 percent). Read the entire interview here.
