Cricinfo To Launch 3D Simulation; In Talks For Audio Content On Radio

Cricinfo plans to launch Cricinfo 3D, an animated simulation of on-field gameplay, reports the Hindu Business Line. According to Premdeep Gangadharan, Head of Marketing of Cricinfo India, the application is being tested and they hope to launch it in time for the India-South Africa Test Matches. Cricinfo is also in talks with radio stations to offer audio content, and more webcasts of Cricket Talk are in the works. Gangadharan claims that it gets 1-1.8 million visitors a day, 1,50,000-3,50,000 of which are from India.
I’m not sure of how entertaining that animated feature will be, or even whether Cricinfo will be able to do ball by ball updates during the World Cup…but that’s quite a variance of 1,50,000 and 3,50,000, isn’t it?
