Spanish mobile giant Movistar has signed a deal with Endemol to produce a made-for-mobile reality TV show, called Yo Melendi. “For 6 weeks and 24 hours a day it will follow the life of Spanish pop sensation Melendi. The show will allow the public a close up view of the life of a singer at the height of his success; how he prepares his songs, his concerts and also about his family life and friends.” Part of the show will be filmed by Melendi and his entourage on a Nokia N-series phone. You’d also hope they are adding easy access to some exclusive mobile content to buy, like wallpapers and ringtones.
Movistar has operators in many spanish-speaking countries, and its mobile customers will also be able to access exclusive chats with the singer, design a T-shirt which he may wear during his concerts and request favorite songs during his concerts.
