Jobs portals cannot stop doing this – trumpeting their resume flow and traffic. A press release from Monster India claims that it received 238 per cent higher traffic (excluding JobsAhead.com) in July-Sept 06 compared to the same period last year. It also claims that it received more than 1.25 million resumes (13,100 new resumes per day) in Jul-Sept 06. With this, Monsterindia.com claims, it has acquired 62 per cent more new resumes than rival Naukri (I am sure Naukri will not agree with this.)
The site attributes the traffic growth to a marketing campaign (“Caught in the wrong job?”) it launched in April 06. Also some of its innovations in product and technology have helped, the release said.
