As Reliance Communications plans to become the mobile content distributor to the Asians around the world, India’s largest private sector telco Bharti Airtel is betting big on mobile content with plans to launch at least one offering every month, The Economic Times reported, quoting Manoh Kohli, President, Miobility, Bharti Airtel.
They plan to this for at least next two years. Data applications revenues constitute 10.6 per cent of Bharti’s revenues currently.
The company is not making any projections as to how much mobile content and applications would constitute its revenues in the next 24 months.
But it cited the examples of Indonesia, China and Philippines, where VAS (value-added services or mobile content) accounted for 20-25 per cent of the operators
