There have been a couple of stories lately that have me curious. They are about a deal by Vimio to license its technology to the Noutique General Trading Company for US$2 million plus a revenue share, to provide mobile users access to live TV. Noutique is described as “a specialist telecoms corporation in Kuwait, controlled by a prominent member of the Kuwaiti Royal family”, and the Vimio release states that “it is expected that Noutique will roll out its services internationally through a number of closely associated Mobile Network Operators in the region”. However, I can’t find anything on Noutique, just an online shopping portal which could be the same company, but appears to be closed for renovations. Anyway, if the release is anything to go by, a company in the Middle East is planning a regional mobile TV service.
