The Haier Group plans to set up a software development center in India, reports EE Times. The center will applications targeting the Indian mobile users, focusing on “networked mobile gaming, streaming media, advertisements and incentive distribution, content management, speech-enabled applications using BREW, J2ME and other technologies in both the GSM and CDMA segments”, reports EE Times. They’re also hiring. More here. With this, Haier will be able to cater to both the Indian and the Chinese markets – the fastest growing mobile markets in the world. Question is – which of the two will they focus on?
