Steve has put the Pepperpad 3 through the grinder and finds that the latest Linux-based ultra-portable is worth its salt. His detailed review covers everything you’d want to know, ranging from performance to usage scenarios to pros and cons of the handheld. While the integrated thumbboard is a nice feature, I’m not sure I would ever use it. However, I did appreciate reading about strong features such as the built-in device stand and DivX bitrates approaching 2 Mbps during playback. If you’re a Linux whiz, this might be the UMPC for you since it’s based on the Fedora Core 4 distro; the ability to extend the device functionality via the open source OS makes it very attractive!
