Daily Mail’s Online Revenues Double

Daily Mail & General Trust, publisher of the U.K.’s Daily Mail newspaper, has reported its fiscal year revenues ending October 1…and online, now part of its Associated Northcliffe Digital group, has reported revenues of about $106 million, double from last year. Excluding acquisitions, growth was about 29 percent. The sites contributed an operating profit of about $25 million.
Recruitment remains the largest generator of revenue through the company’s Jobsite network of sites. The group’s property offering was increased by the £49 million acquisition of Primelocation. It also acquired Allegran, the owner of some of the UK’s leading dating sites, Carsource, a motors site, and SimplySwitch, a leading utility switching site. The companion sites to the group’s print titles have seen strong growth in traffic and revenues, although profitability remains elusive.
