Cleartrip To Raise Second Round Venture Funding In Early 2007

Since MakeMyTrip has tied up its second round funding, and Travelguru is expected to sign up its Series B anytime soon, it’s expected that other VC-backed online travel portals will also go in for fresh fund raising. Cleartrip, a travel portal backed by Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers and Ram Shriram’s Sherpalo Ventures, may go in for its second round funding in early 2007, reports DNA.
Cleartrip was launched in 2007 with a $5 million funding from KPCB and Sherpalo. The report says it may raise about $10 million in the next round.
MakeMyTrip recently tied up its second round funding of $10-12 million from Helion Venture Partners, Sierra Ventures and the return backer SAIF Partners. The deal, however, is yet to be announced. Travelguru is also believed to be going in for another round of funding of $15 million from Battery Ventures and the return backer Sequoia Capital India.
