Philip Taylor, Director of Wireless Internet Applications at Strategy Analytics, has a piece on RCR Wireless comparing the two DVB-H networks in Italy — Hutchison’s Tre‘s standalone effort and Mediaset’s offering, which it licenses to TIM (and also Vodafone, if not now then soon). An obvious difference is the price, with Tre offering the service on a variety of packages including 29 euro per month, while TIM‘s monthly charge is only 5 euros. Tre has more channels, though. It also offers single day packages, which seem to be popular (at least, they were in the focus group).
