This was quite expected when Yahoo alongwith Canaan Partners invested in matrimonial portal BharatMatrimony. Yahoo India will drop Shaadi.com and instead take BM as its preferred matrimonial partner. A Shaadi.com logo still dons the Yahoo matrimonial page. I wonder why it’s taking long for Yahoo to do this, though. Contractual obligations?
Also an afterthought: why didn’t Yahoo invest in Shaadi instead of BM in the first place? [Via Business Standard]
