Earnings: 3Q Revenue, Income Up For Liberty Media Interactive, Starz

Liberty Media reported strong growth at both its Interactive Group and Starz Entertainment businesses and talked up the potential of its recent IDT Entertainment acquisition. The company lists the businesses under separate tickers . On a consolidated basis, profit was $75 million compared with a loss of $315 million in the same quarter last year. Operating income at the Interactive Group, which includes QVC, jumped 44 percent to $257 million, while sales rose 12 percent to $1.65 billion. Starz Entertainment revenue jumped 3 percent to $253 million while operating income climbed 14 percent to $40 million. Liberty Media’s Starz Entertainment Group and IDT Entertainment joined forces in August to form Starz, LLC. an integrated production and multi-platform distribution company.
