Microsoft hasn’t denied that information stored on Windows Mobile devices is not as secure as that stored on other devices such as Blackberry’s, because it isn’t held in an encrypted form on the device — it’s protected only by a password. That’s not very important to most people, but it is important to enterprise users, which is who Microsoft is targeting with its pitch of integrating with a PC. As more and more personal information and data is stored on the handset this will become an issue.
