Earnings: Looksmart Sees Improvement in 3Q as Total Paid Clicks Increase to 100 Million

Looksmart showed improved results in the third quarter. The net loss narrowed to $3.86 million, or 17 cents per share, compared with $4.27 million, or 19 cents, a year earlier. Revenue rose 9 percent to $12.1 million.
Other highlights included:
— Total paid clicks rose 41 percent to 100 million year-over-year and 15 percent from 87 million in the previous quarter.
The average revenue per click was about 10 cents, a decrease from 11 cents last year, but little changed from the second quarter.
— Traffic acquisition costs were 64 percent, up from 58 percent a year ago, but an improvement from 66 percent in the second quarter.
— Unique visitors to the company’s network of sites rose 41 percent to 14.5 million from 10.3 million in the prior quarter.
