SifyMax is the “official broadband partner” for the Spring Summer collection week of the Lakme Fashion Week 2006, to be webcast live between 31st October and 4th November.
Two days ago I came across an ad by SifyMax, seeking advertisers for the broadcast. The event, including slipups (if any, this time around) can be viewed live here. The site also has video archives of the webcast, and features artists profiles. The videos open in a popup window with one quarter of the screen with a list of Sify Broadband content. A ticker above the video screen links to content from SifyMobile. Then there’s advertising from Bharatmatrimony, and a list of radio channels. I’m not sure of how many users will actually watch this, since the quality of the video is (to put it mildly) abysmal. Also, I’m waiting to see how good or bad AOL’s video content is, though I’ve heard that it targets an entirely different segment.
I’m unable to take a screencap of the streaming video, for posting, so recommendations on what I can do would be appreciated.
Update: Since someone from Sify asked about it, I’d just like clarify that I’m on MTNL @512kbps. I also noticed that while receiving the feed, my entire bandwidth isn’t being utilized: only 10-12 KBps of the total 64 KBps that gets entirely used up when I’m watching watching streaming TV online, though i haven’t done that in a while.
