PacificNet Acquires Interest in Leading Mobile Internet Portal in China

PacificNet has bought a 20% in Chinese mobile internet portal MOABC, although there’re no details given on the price paid. “MOABC.com is a leading mobile internet portal in China with 11 million registered users and boasts one of the top-ranked mobile internet sites, featuring mobile social networking, mobile games, and entertainment.”
Moabc gets its revenue from a number of sources. There are 8 million people registered to its free Mo-Space mobile blogging service, for which it sells avatars, virtal furniture and accessories. It has a profit sharing arrangement with NetEase for a mobile MMORPG titled The World, as well as companies such as Casino, Nokia, Sony-Ericsson, and Samsung advertising on the portal.
