@TiEcon 2006: Workshop For Entrepreneurs On Day 1

Session 1 on Day 1 at TiEcon 2006 focused on assisting entrepreneurs develop a business plan, and tips were on offer from VC’s, professional business consultants, and from one entrepreneur who got funded. First on developing a business plan from the consultants:
Kalpana Jain and Atul Dhawan of Deloitte Haskins & Sells are old hands at scanning and developing business plans and they spent well over an hour explaining what all needs to go into creating a good business plan and some of the things that entrepreneurs need to consider before making that pitch. Jain mentioned that there things that can be leveraged to an entrepreneurs advantage like vendor alliances and IP. A defined organizational structure, as well as plans for changes to the structure while scaling up indicates that you’ve thought the people issues through. Atul Dhawan said that the document must explain what you understand about your target markets
