Orange (the mobile arm of France Telecom) has announced an Application Shop that its customers can use to download mobile applications, and developers in its Orange Partner program can use to sell their product. The shop will launch this year and roll out to every major Orange market over the next six to nine months — the different sites will offer localised products. From the press release: “The Application Shop is designed to complement existing wap and web based routes to market, including the current Orange World and the Orange Applications Showcase for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) it will offer a huge range of applications aimed at personal use
