The Hindu: It’s Diwali time again, and here are some numbers on online shopping. According to IAMAI, online sales are expected to grow more than 100 per cent this Diwali to touch Rs 250 crore compared to last year’s Rs 115 crore. According to Subho Ray, President, IAMAI, the number of people who will transact online will increase to 12 lakh this year from 8.1 lakh last year. What do people buy? Everything from diyas to mithai, jewellery, and plasma TVs.
The numbers look impressive if the sales happen as they expect.
