Sony CMT-U1BT: A2DP-enabled sound system

Sony_cmt_with_a2dp_1If you listen to digital audio all day and don’t enjoy cable clutter (who does?) the Sony CMT-U1BT might be music to your ears. This "micro hi-fi" system as Sony calls it includes wireless Bluetooth capabilities that support A2DP, or the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile, which brings high quality stereo sound without wires. If you don’t have A2DP-capable devices in your home, Sony is kindly bundling some sort of dongle that "plugs into virtually any device such as a PC, phone, portable CD or surround sound system, enabling you to upgrade your other equipment to send music backwards and forwards".

Device and format support includes: a vertical slot loading CD mechanism that can handle MP3 or Atrac files direct from CDR/RW discs, an AM/FM tuner and a plug-and-play USB port. Got a rechargeable USB Walkman? Sony claims that you’ll get 3 hours of playback from it after housing it for just 3 minutes in the CMT-U1BT.
