DesiPundit Shuts Down; Founder Doesn’t Have Time

DesiPundit, a popular Indian blog content aggregator is shutting shop because Patrix, the founder, doesn’t have time. DesiPundit shot to fame when it tracked the spread of news coverage of an Indian blogger who was sued by an Indian College over his comments on the colleges advertising practices. Since then it has received financial support via donations, features ads and has a handpicked selection of fifteen contributors. So why doesn’t Patrix let others take over? He writes:

It is difficult to let go of an identity and see it transform into something different from what I envisioned.

Also, I might return to DesiPundit in the distant future (and probably in a different form) so I would like to keep that option open.

Meanwhile, Saket Vaidya, one of the contributors, is mulling over starting a similar portal.
