Not so much about conventional digital media, but about content in the sky, most of the digitally delivered of course: Virgin America, a new U.S. start-up airline expected to launch domestic service early next year (owned by Virgin) has inked a number all the deals with entertainment companies, to offer their content on the service.
The airline has reached individual agreements with Disney, Fox, Paramount Pictures, and Warner Brothers to provide major theatrical content…it will offer its customers PPV movies, live TV via satellite, audio music entertainment including the ability to compile individual audio playlists, electronic games, and others.
It would be interesting to see how the final product is delivered as well as the user interface for it, and perhaps the ability to port content to the customers portable devices.
