NDTV And Yello Media Launch Jobs Portal

You’re probably reading this here first: NDTV and Thailand based Yello Media have launched a jobs portal – NDTVjobs.com . By the looks of it, the site is still under development (my signup form had some problems – screencap). The terms and conditions are those of Yello, not NDTVjobs. It’s a mirror image of the site Yello runs/developed in Thailand for MSN Careers. Yello has sites with both the Yello brand, as well as co-branded portals. Who’ll be running the show here?
I don’t know how this fits in with the NDTV mission, but if you look at what’s happened over the past couple of months, the gameplan for media houses seems to be to use the power of their distribution network to plug.
The site has a career blog, and ‘Boot Camp’, which lists training courses. I quite liked the GUI of the site, but how serious are NDTV about the jobs portal? If you’ve seen NDTV Blogs once, you don’t want to see them again. A jobs portal, Naukri and Monster will tell you amidst the arguments- is a different ball game. Web18 already has jobstreet. And it won’t be easy uprooting pre-established players – hasn’t CareerBuilder struggled in India?
For now, even the main url http://www.yellojobs.com links to the NDTVjobs site. Yello mainly has a classifieds business, so will be see that next?
The bar on top lists other sites from the NDTV network: NDTV Gadgets.com, NDTV shopping (powered by Fabmall), NDTV Travels.
