Bulgarian incumbent MobilTel has launched the Vodafone Live portal for its 4 million plus customers, with all the content that comes with it. “MobilTel customers will have the opportunity to enjoy in real time their favourite television, to download video clips, to listen to music, to play games, to get informed about the latest news, to chat or to find the nearest club.” This is the result of a deal struck between MobilTel and Vodafone back in February, although the main interest seems to have been roaming. As far as I’m aware this is the first time Vodafone Live is available to customers of a carrier that isn’t in the Vodafone Group, or have Vodafone as a shareholder (although Vodafone is a big company and I could have missed something). It would be interesting to know the financial side of the deal, and whether this is a one-off or Vodafone is looking to license its portal to other operators. We’ll look into it.
