HP: Product Manager – Digital Media Services, Vancouver, WA

Working throughout the product life-cycle from conception through introduction to evolution, you’ll be responsible for driving our successful position in the market by ensuring that our on-demand media servces offerings and value propositions are driven by insightful understanding of the market and innovative thinking. Your focus will be on achieving competitive advantage both short and long term, and winning in the market place with both end consumers and our B2B merchant and distribution partners.
Job responsibilities include maintaining a technical understanding of physical (DVD) and electronic (file download) media and related technologies, competitive market assessment and strategy recommendations, and specifying product and solution requirements. Work will be accomplished through applying individual expertise and research, and through working collaboratively with members of the DES (Digital Entertainment Services) Marketing, R&D and Business Development teams.
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s (undergraduate)degree or Master’s (graduate)degree in Business Administration, Marketing or non-business/technical field of study.
– Working knowledge of current digital media solutions and technologies
– Working knowledge of media and entertainment industry
– Demonstrated ability to understand and drive resolution of technical issues and work with technical teams
– Demonstrated drive, confidence and willingness to takes risks
– Demonstrated ability to influence and persuade up, down, and across the organization
– Distilling various sources of data and information on an issue and arriving at a recommendation
– Managing multiple and high-level objectives
– Effective written communication and presentation skills (suitable for internal and external/customer audiences)
– Basic product management finance and forecasting skills
Experience and knowledge include:
– Services business background and familiarity
– Web/internet commerce and client/server solutions experience
– Future product marketing experience leading the definition of new product or service requirements
– Working knowledge of current digital media solutions and technologies
– Working knowledge of media and entertainment industry
– Understanding of fundamental marketing concepts and best practices
– Fluency in English and local languages.
