AirPlay Network, an SF-based mobile gaming and application company founded by Morgan Guenther, former president at TiVo, has $14 million in a second round investment round from a combination of strategic investors and venture funds. The round was led by JK&B Capital…other investors included QUALCOMM and Motorola, ONSET Ventures and Redpoint Ventures.
Airplay develops TV interaction games, and Sprint recently used one of its apps that allowed users to play along with the live Emmy Awards broadcast and predict/choose the winners. AirPlay’s flagship sports game, AirPlay Live Football, was launched last month, and enables football fans to make real-time game predictions from their phones during live broadcasts of this season’s professional football games.
