Staci @ ONA, ETC. In DC

I’m following Advertising Week in New York with the Online Newspaper Association Online News Association conference and ancillary activities in Washingon D.C. Still trying to decide between checking in on J-Lab’s Citizen Media Summit II or the ASNE-ONA seminar on Digitizing Thre Print Newsroom at Gannett headquarters. (There’s a Classroom Convergence session at the same time.) Those are all registration-required events. Then there’s a session I probably won’t be able to make tomorrow night at 6:15 p.m. that’s open: “The future is here: Now what? at American University, featuring Craig Newmarkof CraigsList.com, Mike Clemente, ABC News, and Susan Defife, Backfence.com.
ONA festivities kick off Thursday night but the action doesn’t really get under way until Friday. Keynotes for what appears to be the largest ONA yet with some 450 preregistered are Mark Cuban and the BBC’s Adrian Van Klaveren. I’m moderating a panel Friday afternoon called “Transforming media: Leading in light of bottom-line realities” with panelists Joan Walsh, Salon.con; Fraser VanAsch, McClatchy; Ron Stitt, Fox Television. Bring your questions and input; we’ll be opening up the discussion as soon as possible. Full agenda here.
Update: The actual name of ONA has been corrected. Slip of the head en route to sleep. Apologies.
