MTV: Manager, Consumer Insights & Brand Awareness

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provide research and managerial support to MTV Research & Planning.
Conceive, design, field, analyze and disseminate qualitative and quantitative research projects including focus groups, telephone research, online research, ethnographies, and trend analyses as well as custom research projects.
Find, evaluate, partner with and manages external partners and suppliers to undertake necessary research studies required to fulfill business needs, and to demonstrate the power of the MTV brands and value of our audience.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Moderate and assist research management in the execution of focus groups and other qualitative research projects.
– Design, lead and manage quantitative brand research for the MTV, MTV2 and mtvU, such as Brand Tracking.
– Plan and execute usability testing, qualitative branding/marketing research efforts, and quantitative research efforts for MTV/MTV2 online sites and broadband channels.
– Manage client relations and oversee distribution of information to all relevant departments including Press, Marketing, Programming, Development, Online, Talent and Sales.
– Make presentations internally and externally.
– Identify, collect and aggregate all micro and macro youth trends and communicate this throughout the organization; including collection and analysis of quantitative data and trend resources, such as TRU, Student Monitor, and Iconoculture.
– Represent channel at external industry functions.
– Cultivate knowledge of media and cultural landscapes as a whole and all technologies/platforms/trends which are of interest to our various departments and our audience.
– Cultivate knowledge of MTVN as a whole.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years media/market research experience including the youth culture space
- Experience in moderation of qualitative research including focus groups, 1-on-1 interviews, triads, ethnographies
- Experience in analysis of quantitative research
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Strong knowledge of television and media space
- Strong knowledge of current cultural and media trends with respect to target audience
- Must be able to work long/off hours and travel
- Proven ability to work under pressure, handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Proven ability to consistently deliver on commitments
- Demonstrated ability to seek out & act quickly on opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to be persistent & resourceful in order to deliver results
- Demonstrated ability to address issues or problems in a timely manner
