Industry Moves: Vodafone Content Boss Leaves Amid Cost-Cutting Sweep

[By Peggy] The Guardian reports Vodafone’s global head of content development Graeme Ferguson, who was instrumental in the creation of the operator’s mobile TV and games services, has left the company. While Vodafone in the UK is in the middle of a mammoth restructuring, it is unclear whether Ferguson has left as a result of these measures, the report says. Under a cost-cutting plan announced earlier in the year, roughly 200 of the company’s 500 marketing people were to leave. Sources close to the company have told me this is the likely reason for the career move, but, again, no confirmation. Stepping up to take his position is Vodafone executive Dirk Wierzbitzki.
