Tata Indicom have signed up Cartoon Network for content for their Video On Demand service, reports The Hindu. Cartoons in both Hindi and English will be made available to Tata Indicom Broadband subscribers in 48 cities across India.
Earlier Financial Express had reported that AOL, expected to launch in Q4 in India, would make content from other Time Warner companies like Turner owned Cartoon Network and TNT available on their Indian portal. It’s unlikely that Tata Indicom subscribers will choose to download the same content from AOL’s India portal directly. I think the AOL India portal will sell Turner’s VOD content (alongwith other content), which will be hosted with ISPs like Tata Indicom.
