PBS: Senior Vice President, Interactive

PBS, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, is a non-profit media enterprise founded in 1969 whose members are America’s public TV stations. The company provides quality TV programming and related services to 354 noncommercial stations.
A trusted community resource, PBS uses the power of noncommercial television, the Internet and other media to enrich lives through quality programs and education services that inform, inspire and delight. PBS oversees television program acquisition and provide program distribution and promotion; new media ventures; education services; fundraising support; engineering and technology development; and consumer product marketing. The National Programming Service (NPS) is the major package of programs that PBS distributes to its member stations. It features television’s best children’s, cultural, educational, history, nature, news, public affairs, science and skills programming. Programs are obtained from PBS stations, independent producers and sources from around the world.
PBS seeks talented candidates for Senior Vice President, PBS Interactive. This individual will be responsible for the following:
–In collaboration with the Chief Content Officer, develop master operational plans; work with the senior content management team to develop and execute a next-generation, scalable, local/national strategy for PBS and its member stations in a digital media age.
–Develop and implement short and long-range strategies and plans for new and existing digital media platforms in collaboration with member stations and a wide range of outside producers and contributors.
–Responsible for the content development and operations of pbs.org, pbskids.org, pbskidsgo.org, pbsparents.org, and new broadband delivery platforms.
–Participate as a member of PBS’s senior content management team.
