The Beeb is reporting on a new service which sends a signal to a mobile phone once it is reported lost or stolen, causing it to “emit an alarm similar to a scream” and display the message “This phone is stolen”, and disable the phone. Tellingly, it also wipes all the personal data from the handset, including “contact numbers, texts, images and emails”. I’m hoping video is included in that as well… However, the service will cost almost 10 pounds a month.
