A deal between Vietnamese broadcaster VTC and Nokia will result in a mobile TV service being launched in Vietnam by the end of the year — which is only three months away. “Service will begin in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City by the end of this year, with national rollout within two years.” It will be a DVB-H service, of course, and deliver “seven pay TV channels and a video-on-demand services linking to a catalog of VTC-owned titles”. I don’t know how long this deal has been in the works, I suspect a while because three months for a commercial roll out is ambitious even for just two cities.
