JOB PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE:
Provide world class leadership and strategic management of Advertising Sales at Community Connect. End to end responsibility for all phases of the advertising sales cycle including but not limited to, sales strategies, territory planning, hiring, developing and motivating sales talent. This position manages direct to client and Premium agency sales. Establishment of sales practices, policies, coaching of staff is critical. Also accountable for specialized intervention for client retention, satisfaction and problem resolution as needed. The Director of Advertising Sales should provide proactive, innovative and consultative direction to the organization in shaping its sales culture and driving revenue to meet and exceed targets and goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
— Plan, organize and direct the activities of half the Direct Advertising Sales Force,
— Recruit, hire, develop and motivate sales force and support departments to achieve sales goals and make adjustments and corrections proactively where needed for organizational growth
— Maximum monetization of web site properties through effective management of inventory and client targeting and coordination with product and content initiatives
— Take a leadership role in moving the organization to a new level of performance by proactively providing leading-edge sales strategies, plans, practices, policies and initiatives
— Work with other business leaders to coordinate sales efforts with marketing, product and technology initiatives to assure seamless sales implementation
— Utilizes sales reporting and management of systems for sales efficiency, forecasting, planning, communication and client tracking
— Provide input and ideas to implement forward thinking, effective and efficient customer support, account management and client facing support services and methods to improve customer retention and satisfaction
— Enforces company and industry policies and practices
— Serve as key CCI leader in developing the skills, savvy and decision making abilities of CCI employees in customer related decisions
— Participate in planning
— Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION & SKILLS:

— At least seven (7) years of successful Advertising Sales experience of which at least three (3) years should be in increasingly responsible management and supervisory experience including experience at the Manager/Director level
— Strong knowledge and proven ability in the on-line media market
— Strong business acumen – knows growth stages and transition points, and has a broad perspective of what is needed to get to the next level of growth and ensure the Company’s continued leadership position amongst competitors
— Ability to learn ethnic, community and niche markets
— Excellent track record of building sales organizations, developing talent and achieving business targets and objectives placed upon Sales groups
— Complete confidence and proven record of closing large deals and surface new opportunities for the organization
