Vivendi’s Universal Music Group pulled its music videos from Cablevision’s Fuse network, and Warner Music Group told Yahoo to stop showing its music videos, in unrelated disputes over licensing fees and other issues, reports WSJ.
On Fuse, the two sides failed to reach an agreement how much royalties Fuse with pay to Universal. Meanwhile, Yahoo stopped showing WMG videos after Warner claimed the Internet company wasn’t dedicating enough resources to promoting its videos and requested it take them down. The two sides already have an agreement in place on licensing fees and related issues.
Warner Music recently reached an agreement with YouTube to share in ad revenues associated with its music videos and songs.
