E-Plus, the German cellco belonging to KPN, has partnered with Vivendi-owned Universal Music Germany to target local music enthusiasts between 16-29. The new brand, Vybemobile, will combine simple tariffs with music-related content, providing subscribers with access to a portal where songs and videos of Universal artists can be listened to and viewed, among other things. E-Plus and Universal plan to offer full track downloads in 2007. Until then Vybemobile’s music offering will include ringtones, exclusive pre-listens for new tracks and the usual mix of music news and content Vybemobile’s WAP-portal. Users will also be able to attend exclusive concerts for the Vybemobile community.
