Exchange4Media.com: Indian’s Press Information Bureau (PIB) – the government’s official media communications wing – is turning digital. PIB is going to start web-streaming of videos. So one can keep track of important government information via audio-visual clips too. They would be downloadable, and would be handy for TV channels and am sure even for websites which steams videos. They also intend to distribute content via DVDs too. They also intend to digitise the last 50-60 years’s photo collection (with the Photo Division) and will be uploaded on PIB website.
PIB has of late turned new media friendly. It has recently accorded accreditation to Internet journalists albeit some riders.
