We are looking for an experienced product director to join the Citysearch Consumer Product team. The team is responsible for all aspects of the consumer experience on the Citysearch network – from site navigation and user interface design to search functionality, personalization, and the presentation of advertising and content. Innovation and improvement of new and existing product lines is the key focus of this group. The Consumer Product team in particular drives the consumer strategy and business requirements. In this role, you will direct strategy, business requirements and development of Citysearch’s suite of community products by leading cross-functional thinking, conducting competitive analysis, identifying key opportunities based on consumer needs and Citysearch brand attributes, and championing creative development with passion and superior communication skills.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, Consumer Product – Community, will be responsible for the team developing the product offering and publishing tools to grow the network of Citysearch super users and user-generated content. The director will work closely with the consumer product team and the content team to develop the community roadmap and grow the P&L. Additionally, the director will work with Citysearch’s executive team to establish strategies and tactics that will create the value and growth required to support Citysearch’s objectives

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Primary Responsibilities:
– Directs product development and execution of community and super user strategy.
– Works closely with senior leadership team, particularly the content team, to define and evolve the overall strategy and product vision for Citysearch’s community and super user offering.
– Owns the semi-annual product plans and calendar, as well as the P&L associated with the commnity and super user product offering, including user-specific page types and the publishing tools to create user-generated content (including reviews, lists, photos, and multi-media contributions).
– Works ongoing with the Content Team on innovative ways to approach the user-generated content elements on the site.
– Reduces broad concepts and business strategies into structured product plans.
– Tracks industry and marketplace trends and innovation to inform Citysearch’s community and content strategy to ensure strong consumer experiences.
– Solicits direct feedback about product initiatives from all levels of the organization, including executive management, prioritizing and incorporating the relevant feedback into the product development process.
– Collaborates with a team of editors responsibile for maintaining trusted content standards across all user content
– Encourages new consumer product ideas across the organization, fostering a shared understanding of product/content/marketing concepts that are relevant to our consumer value proposition.
– Ensures product alignment around execution of consumer marketing programs, driving flawless execution.
– Works closely with marketing team to ensure content strategies are executed with strong brand positioning and in support of wider corporate goals.
– Works closely with finance team to create financial models to forecast consumer projects and initiatives before launch and track performance after launch.
– Works closely with other IAC operating businesses as appropriate to align consumer product with IAC’s overall local strategy.

Experience:
– Strong record of success at defining and innovating products to support community and user-generated content.
– Ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of combined, relevant experience in the areas of Content and Product.
– Ideal will have at least 5 years of direct management experience in the areas of Content and/or Product.
– Demonstrated ability to define and communicate a content vision by means of logically organized product plans and documentation.
– Experience employing the use-case method for gathering and defining product requirements.
– Experience with working with large content and sales team, many based remotely.
– Experience interacting with executive management, communicating and presenting product initiatives and priorities in professional and corporate settings.
– Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
– Outstanding organization skills and a keen attention to details.
– Combination of technology and business acumen.
– Experience with Microsoft Office and related productivity tools, as well as digital imaging or editing software.
– MBA preferred.
