Diller’s Very Short List

We missed this one earlier this month but came to our attention again today through an e-mail from the company: Barry Diller’s InterActiveCorp didn’t get to buy Daily Candy, but it is doing the next best thing: launching a “Daily Candy for the Creative Class.” In short, it is e-mail newsletter called Very Short List (VSL), and will cover daily high-brow arts and culture. It will be written by two very well known journalists – Simon Dumenco from New York Magazine and Kurt Andersen, among other things was the co-founder of Inside.com (where both Staci and I worked back in the days). “Each day VSL showcases one single thing that you need to know about in the world of entertainment, media, and culture”, as the company describes it. The newsletter is launching in private beta now, and will be launched later this year.
The website has examples of the kind of stories it will do.
