MusicNet: Senior Manager/Director, Business Development – UK (London, England)

We are looking for a talented individual for this senior position which is responsible for identifying, proposing and pursuing opportunities for expanding the company’s core and emerging businesses. In addition the position will close strategic deals with new customers who will use the company’s products and services to sell music video to their end consumers.
Some Key Responsibilities include:
— Identify, propose and pursue opportunities for expanding the company’s core and emerging businesses.
— Provide a high level of oversight for the proposal process for new business including the preparation, pricing, and negotiation.
— Ensure that roles and responsibilities of all internal team members involved in the proposal development process are clearly defined and delineated, and that all work assignments are appropriately allocated.
— Coordinates conversion of:
o New client leads, partnering with the sales team in a team-selling approach.
o New sales opportunities at existing partners, as brought in by Partner Relations team members.
o Transfer new partner relationships to the appropriate Partner Relations team member.
— Develop a deep understanding of strategic partner’s product and services and long-term business strategies.
— Provide regular status reports and issue tracking to appropriate departments and team members.
— Build business plans and models which demonstrate the financial potential for partner opportunities.
— Provide intelligence, regular competitive analysis on industries in which the company operates in and interacts with.
Skills/Requirements/Qualifications:
— University-level degree in business, marketing, computer science or related area. MBA, JD preferred.
— A minimum of 10 years experience in online media or technology.
— Ability to work closely with engineering and technical operations teams to convert market needs to a product roadmap.
— Proven track record of generating leads, creating and delivering sales pitches at the most senior levels of companies (from small to large) and then closing those deals.
— Creative and highly self-motivated with persuasive closing abilities.
— Proven track record in sales: ability to meet and exceed individual sales targets on a consistent basis.
— Excellent interpersonal, verbal, oral and written communication skills.
— Very detail-oriented and well-organized; ability to manage in high-activity, high-transaction environment.
— Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
— Significant knowledge of digital media technologies and operations; able to communicate with engineering and operations staff on technical issues.
— Able to work and adapt to changing environment.
— Travel: Minimum 20% domestic.
— Must be authorized to work in the UK (i.e. EU citizen or have a valid UK work permit).
