Motorola has bought Vertasent in an effort to enhance its next-generation video network platform. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Vertasent develops video software, which Motorola said it would enable it to stream video programming to any device.
Vertasent’s technology is designed to help cable TV providers use their network capacity more efficiently. Motorola earlier bought VOD technology developer Broadbus Technologies. In January it agreed to buy Swedish set-top box maker Kreatel AG.
