Mercora has announced a new application called Mercora M, which allows people to stream music from their music library on their PC as well as to “stream tracks broadcast on thousands of Internet radio channels, and eventually, songs from up to five other Mercora users”.
I’m not sure how this differs from its IMRadio Mobile, which launched last year. “At launch, Mercora M will be free through Oct. 31, after which the company will charge $4.99 a month. The company was also offering a 12-month subscription for $49.99 and a two-year subscription for $99.99.”
Charles Golvin, a mobile market analyst for Forrester Research, said that loading music onto mobiles is better than streaming because there are no playback issues.
