Missed this earlier in the week … Yale University is going to offer online video, syllabi and transcripts in several languages for seven courses as part of an 18-month trial funded by a $755,000 grant from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. Taping starts this fall; the courses, slated to go online in fall 2007, can’t be used to earn credit. Subjects include introductory courses in religion, physics, astronomy and political philosophy. Release.
— Online courses aren’t new but Yale claims to be offering the first video effort.
