ABC’s Ad-Supported Broadband Player Returns; Grey’s Hits iTunes

An enhanced version of the Interactive Emmy-winning ABC.com broadband player trialed late last spring relaunches Friday night. While only four series were shown during the trial, this version includes seven as they premiere: returning shows Grey’s Anatomy, Lost, Desperate Housewives and new shows Ugly Betty, Six Degrees, The Knights of Prosperity and The Nine.
— Four episodes per series will be up at at any given time once the shows all kick into gear.
— Formatting is 16×9.
— Half-hour promos designed to catch new viewers up to the returning shows are also on the player.
— Users can switch between chapters but, as was the case during the trial, can’t fast-forward through ads.
— Up to three interactive ads per episode from a national advertisers through ABC and one local ad through affiliates as the player debuts on local sites throughout the fall.
Update: Grey’s Anatomy — new episodes and the first two seasons — hit iTunes today.
