On the heels of its deal with Warner Music, YouTube has another music tie-up… Cingular will sponsor an online battle of unsigned bands on the site from Oct. 2-Oct.18, part of the wireless company’s push to sell mobile entertainment services. In addition to the cash — an assumption since no terms were disclosed, AP calls it a “symbolic ” move because it shows a major advertiser is willing to put its brand up next to “risque and bawdy” material.
