Mobease Launches Mobile Search Engine

French company Mobease has launched a search application for Symbian (series 60) mobile phones, Mobifindit. It indexes all the content on the phone so a user can search phone numbers, images, music, instructions and so on by typing in the first letters or figures of the search. “In its white-labelled version, mobifindit also integrates the feature of searching through sponsored key words. This version allows mobile operators, content providers and manufacturers to use mobifindit! as a universal and genuine search engine, mixing both personal content and wap portal content in a single, and simple to use, interface.” Being a European company it has launched in French, English, German, Italian and Spanish. It’s being sold direct to consumers from www.mobifindit.com and can also be transfered via e-mail, Bluetooth and IR.
Mobease was founded by Florent Pitoun, who was previously the Director of Product Marketing at mobile game company IN-FUSIO (now MobileScope). Mobease is privately funded.
