Communacopia XV: Diller: Ask.com Aims For 10 Percent Share

Speaking at Goldman Sachs’ Communacopia XV conference today, Barry Diller, CEO of IAC/InterActiveCorp said that Ask.com share of the search market to 8 to 10 percent from a current level around 2 percent…He said Ask.com’s “pure search” share of the market was close to 2 percent, though additional search offerings would rank the company at 6 percent of the market.
Diller also said he is looking to expand Ask.com’s advertisers to 100,000 from 40,000. He said local advertising is the next target for the search market.
