Online ad network Tremor Network raised $8.4 million in first round funding led by Masthead Venture Partners and Canaan Partners. Tremor CEO Jason Glickman said in the announcement that the company had been able to get along until now “to generate significant cash flow to operate with very little outside capital” but this cash infusion will “will enable us to dramatically increase our future growth in the video advertising space and strengthen our position as the market leader.” Masthead’s Richard W. Levandov and Canaan Partners’ Warren Lee join the Tremor board. Release.
— At the same time, Randy Kilgore, former DJ SVP-sales, joins the company as chief revenue officer.
