UK Mobile Web Use Put At 13.2 Million People

New figures from the Mobile Data Association show that 13.2 million subscribers accessed the web from their mobiles in July 2006. (That seems extremely high, given that the entire population is 60 million?) Most accessed types of sites were, in order: Google, chat, WAP directories, other search sites, BBC, games/wallpaper/ringtone downloads, mobile entertainment/news sites, MSN, communities and shopping. Mobile versions of well-known web brands are the most popular, but MDA expects community sites to see big growth along with blog-related services.
